Karin Baumgardner Issaquah, WA * Exported from MasterCook II * Tofu w/ Cilantro Sauce Recipe By : Dr. Andrew Weil Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : **New Tofu Want To Try Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 pound firm tofu 1 tablespoon salt SAUCE: 1 tablespoon canola oil 1 tablespoon fresh ginger root -- finely chopped 1/2 cup fresh cilantro -- chopped 1 tablespoon natural soy sauce 1 teaspoon light brown sugar 1. Cut the tofu into 4 tyhick slices. Place slices in a pot containinbg 3 cups cold water and the salt. Soak for 30 minutes, thenly slowly bring it almost to a boil, and cook without boiling for 5 minutes. 2. While tofu is heating, prepare the sauce. Heat the canola oil in a skillet and sdd the ginger. Stir-fry for 1 minute, then add the cilantro, soy sauce, and sugar. Cook for 1 minutes over high heat. 3. Remove tofu from heat, drain, carefully transfer to a warm serving dish, and spoon sauce over it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : " Serve this to anyone still unsure about tofu.
