Guest guest
I, also, have had the same problem with dried beans. You know, you don't know how long these things have been sitting on the shelf at the store. You buy them and then they sit in your cupboard. I had a recipe with pinto beans a few weeks ago. I used the ones in my cupboard and decided to cook it in the crockpot. It took 2 hours longer than expected because the beans were old. I threw out the rest of them in the jar. Too aggravating. I almost always buy new ones now unless I had labeled the older ones and knew how long I had them. Ask the people at the store if they know how long these things have been on the shelves. Sometimes they know. Nothing you can do to speed these situations along. Old things are old and hard as a rock. RisaG
