The market for " diet " books is wacky. I think people are looking for authorities to tell them what they want to hear, or how to rationalize what they are doing, and it doesn't matter whether the info is reality-based. Reminds me of the psychologist who divided students into 2 groups, those with blue and brown eyes, and attributed different qualities to each. Result was that behavior changed based on expectations -- in extreme ways. Lesson: don't discount the power of beliefs and expectations -- often more powerful than any other factor. Rambling...
