Guest guest
One from LA: August 18, 2007 While at Sunset Junction, Visit Silver Lake's Newest Vegan Cafe Vegan and vegetarian restaurants are starting to become one of the regulars among sushi and Thai joints across Los Angeles neighborhoods. And on Thursday, Silver Lake got theirs with Flore Vegan Cuisine (additionally, Intelligentsia Coffee opened yesterday one block north). Veggies are rejoicing to once again eat owner and Chef Miranda's cuisine after selling Tierra Cafe last year in Downtown (which is still open under new management). She has now brought forth a vegan restaurant that does not specialize in Thai, a relief to many Vegans who love Thai, but are looking for more vegan options. From Breakfast items like the Frittata Flore, Cranberry Walnut French Toast and Tomato Basil Omelets to daytime treats such as the Avacado & Seitan Salad, a Cheese Plate, Tempeh Tu-No Melt, Jicama Tacos and Pizza, the menu is diverse and delish. For those on the run, the deli has pre-made sandwiches, salads and other items ready to go. On Thursday, their first day of business, a man came to the window near opening and begged to get in to buy some coffee. He said he wanted to be the first paying customer and so started a great first day. The restaurant was busier than expected, using 113 out of 115 lemons for fresh lemonade and one customer reported that Flore is going to give Real Food Daily a run for their money. Flore3818 W.
