Guest guest
Haha, how is that for irony.... On the news tonight they were reporting that Aquafina, a company who sells bottled spring water in the US, is being sued for bottling and selling tap water as spring water.--ScottDon't under estimate the wisdom of nature. Guest guest
Huh. I didn't think they ever marketed themselves as spring water. I don't ever remember reading on the label that it was. Aquafina is usually my bottled water of choice due to the fact that it's pretty much as close to distilled water as you can get in a bottled water. During a raw foods class I took, the teacher brought out a device that measured inorganic particles in water, and had us bring in samples of water from home - tap water, whatever brand of bottled water we drank. My tap water had about 125 parts per million(ppm) of inorganic particles, most bottled water (Poland Spring and some other brands) had about 35 ppm, and Aquafina had 1ppm. The teachers of this class highly recommended we drink distilled water, but said that if they were out somewhere, and had to buy water, they always bought Aquafina. Since chemicals like chlorine, fluoride, chloramine and mercury are usually removed prior to the reverse osmosis as well (if only because they will damage the reverse osmosis membrane), I feel pretty good about drinking Aquafina. Guest guest
I believe some bottled waters are called 'drinking water' not spring water - which is probably what this company uses. Guest guest
I don't think so because they are being sued for using tap water and advertising it as spring water. However, I am not very familiar with this company because I have not done any research on them. Maybe someone out there knows something and will jump in.--ScottDon't under estimate the wisdom of nature.--- jo.heartwork wrote:"heartwerk" <jo.heartwork Subject: Re: AquafinaMon, 30 Jul 2007 06:57:05 -0000 I believe some bottled waters are called 'drinking water' not spring water - which is probably what this company uses. Guest guest
I know they're owned by Pepsi. And I'm pretty sure they said they are going to change their labeling. Guest guest
Yes, I did read a news article about that. I wonder how much it will hurt their sales.--ScottDon't under estimate the wisdom of nature.
