Guest guest
First Vegetarian Restaurant in San Antonio Last Update: Mar 7, 2007 2:00 PM Posted By: Ashley Severson Watch This Video San Antonio's first and only vegetarian restaurant is here. Green provides a range of options for vegetarian guests. Many of their vegetarian meals appeal to the non-vegetarian community as a way of introducing them to a great tasting vegetarian experience. No meat will ever be cooked at Green. When Green uses eggs, they are free range, hand gathered eggs. All of the breads, dressings, and desserts are vegan (no eggs, dairy or honey). Green stands for more than just the food too. It describes how they do business. Green has installed an energy efficient thermal roof barrier to reduce energy consumption, reused an existing circa 1896 structure to help revitalize an area of downtown. Green has also reused the majority of its restaurant equipment from refrigerators to booths/tables. Green has a recycling dumpster for cardboard, fair trade organic coffee, uses biodegradable packaging when possible, and will eventually install a cistern to capture rainwater for landscape maintenance.
