Guest guest
From Progressive u So, my fiance and I are going vegan.Of course, this is not a one step thing...go to bed and wake up vegan. A lot of reading has to be done and learning and stuff like that. And that's ok with us. Now, we aren't those crazy PETA people that wrap themselves in saran wrap tp protest animal slaughter. I'm all for animal rights and fair treatment of animals.... No, I know that meat is a big part of most people's diets...same with meat and cheese and eggs and stuff. No, we are going vegan for the health benefits. Cattle, chickens, pigs, fish etc are pumped with growth hormones and steroids and all kinds of yummy stuff. A lot of foods are stuff with all kinds of nasty things like high fructose corn syrup (fake sugar syrup) and all kinds of artificial dyes and stuff that is not meant to be eaten. (Dyes just stick to your fat cells....for a few years....ew.) Going vegan means we would eat only things that came from the earth. Don't get me wrong, I believe animals came from the earth too, but all the nasty things they are pumped with...unappetizing at best. And unnatural. And bad for you. Besides, you can get all your protein and vitamins from veggies and stuff...and it is all natural...nothing bad. No trans fat, no saturated fat, no syrup or dyes. I'm ok with going vegan...that's ok with me...as long as the food is yummy (friend tempeh!). No, I am not an activist or anything, I just want to be healthy.
