Guest guest
Ouch! Sorry to hear about your ankle Sharon but how interesting that it allowed you to finish your book. That's what the book I'm working on is about. How sometimes what we feel is the worst thing to happen actually turns into the best thing. It's a children's book. My ultimate goal is to write a book loosely based on a friend of mine who died last year in Iraq. We worked at one of those Military Boot Camps for at risk youth together and made the difference in a lot of lives that had hit rock bottom with drugs, gangs and horrible family situations. It was awesome and Bo, my friend, was the dearest man. Gosh, your daughter was kidnapped … I'd like to read your story. I love the elderly too! I have a million stories from the facility where I worked. My office was on the second floor which was a locked down unit for those in last stage dementia and along with the sadness of dealing with those dying on a regular basis, there was also the daily roll in the floor pee your pants funny times. They could roam anywhere they wanted and many would often walk right into my office and stand a foot away from my desk and just watch me. Try writing a month's worth of progress notes with 5 people standing around you desk trying to figure out what you're doing. Many would ask me why I watched TV so much … lol … they were referring to my computer monitor but most of them were too old to know what that was. I just told them that I was lazy and begged them not to tell on me. Sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I know that process is an adjustment and I wish you all the best on your journey. About the raw diet, for me it's uncooked veggies, fruits and grains. I discovered the benefits after preparing for a 40 day water fast. In preparing to go strictly to water for an extended period of time I had to do 2 weeks of raw foods then graduated to 2 weeks of water and juices and then just water. You start the fast on the first day you go to water. I didn't make the 40 days; I broke the fast at 22. I was working full time, caring for a family of 6 and my youngest son was on a traveling baseball team … I think I could have made it had I not had the long drives and late nights. It was an incredible experience and it heightened all my other senses. I plan to try it again now that my life has slowed down somewhat but I'm not ready yet. I need to go in for a physical and get in the right frame of mind. Blessings, *mona
