Guest guest
Our Question of the Week - Where are you from(be as vague or specific as you choose)? Born and raised in Los Angeles What helped you consider being a vegetarian? Was raised by a vegan and I refused this lifestyle, Mom couldn't cook and the food was horrible and she would dig and pick at me and I was rebel and wasn't having any of it. What a lentil burger for dinner again? Maybe I should go eat a mudpie LOL I ate at all the neighbors houses. Spent the day with the Hare Krishna's in Venice Beach at their festival of the Chariots and ate all their wonderful free food and when they gave me a free cookbook I decided to try it for 30 days, that was about 27-28 years ago and I never looked back and I'm a self taught cook and believe me I can cook anything, I set my heart, mind and soul into it. I thought if I was going to erat vegetarian I was going to set out and experiment with every veggie, bean and grain I could find and I would learn how to cook it. Lots of stomach and colon cancer in my family on both sides so I thought this would have benefits for me as well as all the innocent animals too. What do you enjoy about being a vegetarian? Don't feel stuffed after eating, don't have stomach pains anymore. Meat takes a long time to digest and I'm allergic to cow's milk so I have an overall better feeling. What tips do you suggest to new vegetarians? Stick with it, you will learn how to toss meals together fast and save money too, buy bulk, use our recipes, dig out the crockpot and join our vegetarian crockpot group too: / Don't get frustrated, it will all fall into place, you will feel better, your skin will look better and you will have more energy (like I need more energy LOL). If you fail at a recipe, remember we have all done that before. Donna
