On Sunday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Filberg Café, Comox Valley Earthsave and Zizi Café would like to invite diners to enjoy a Moroccan-style vegan buffet. An opening course of humous will be followed by a Cyprus Village Salad. The main course of Moroccan lentil patties will be complemented by Zizi’s Moroccan Rice and a quinoa tabouleh salad. Moroccan baklava and Moroccan coconut squares will be served as dessert. Zizi Café uses as many local and/or organic ingredients as is seasonally possible to make fresh and healthy menu choices. Price is $15, including tip, coffee or tea. Kid’s price is $1 per year up to age 12. The meal is by reservation only. A reservation is a commitment to pay. Reserve by calling Bob at 338-0751. EarthSave is a non-profit educational organization promoting awareness of the health, environmental and ethical consequences of our food choices. It advocates a plant-based diet for better health, environmental sustainability and compassion towards non-human animals. In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness.
