Oct 20 2006 The October Raw and Living Foods Vegan Potluck will be held at its usual place, the Evergreen Seniors Lounge in the Florence Filberg Centre. The guest speaker following the potluck buffet will be Sandy Rae, talking about how raw vegan foods have “helped overcome rheumatoid arthritis” and improve health generally. The event will be held Sunday, Oct. 22. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and eating begins at 6. Bring to share with others a vegan dish unprocessed by heat or chemicals (fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds, sprouts and/or sprouted grains — as a guide, nothing from a box, can or bottle. Also, bring a list of ingredients and all your own dishes, cutlery and a cup for soup and/or beverage. There will be door prizes, generous courtesy of Eatmore Sprouts, Edible Island, Regenesis Holistic Resources, and ZenZero. Suggested donation of $4 per adult at the door. As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression.
