as in the rest of asia more er less....LOTSA RICE

 

often very hot...

sambal sauces(hot)

 

lots of cassava and sweet potatoes

lots of coconut milk...

 

a synthesis of southeast asian cooking/foods and indian...

 

on the icky part...lotsa fish and shrimp...(they are islands after all)

 

indonesian food in general tends to use veggies, fruit or meat as a condiment to

the base starch dish....
