This is a reply from an anti vegan letter in the Hamilton Spectator: Vegan connection By Michael Hayward, TorontoThe Hamilton Spectator(Aug 10, 2006) Re: 'Vegans should stop telling people what they shouldn't eat' (letter, Aug. 8) It's funny that the letter writer says the vegan diet "didn't have much to do with the actual accomplishment" regarding Monica Scholz, who is a vegan and captured the fastest women's time in 2004 and 2006 at the gruelling 217- kilometre Badwater Ultramarathon. Overall winner at this event for the second year in a row was Scott Jurek, who is also a vegan. So maybe there is a diet connection. As far as

vegans supposedly telling the letter writer not to eat meat, why doesn't she also complain about the constant advertising bombardment telling her to do so.Peter H

Well quite!!! I wonder if the letter writer has ever told anyone what they should or shouldn't do - I bet they have. Obviously a guilty conscience.

It's funny that the letter writer says the vegan diet "didn't have much to do with the actual accomplishment" regarding Monica Scholz, who is a vegan and captured the fastest women's time in 2004 and 2006 at the gruelling 217- kilometre Badwater Ultramarathon.
