Guest guest
Recently, I have been relaxing at home after work by relaxing to Audio Books. They are such a blessing after I discovered their benefits. After a full day infront of PC, I wish to relax my eyes. Don't feel like watching TV or being on the net again. What better way to do this other than to listen to Audio Books(AB). For this I joined my local public library with a wonderful collection of ABs on CD. Now, joining other libraries with a huge Audio Books collection seems frugal even if they charge a membership fee. My pet parrots also don't like it if it is too quite for very long and get rest less. They also find the sound of the Audio Books very relaxing. ABs on CD seem to be a bigg blessing to me, Priceless. For news and updates, since I am away from ALL visual media pretty much, I listen to Hourly news on the Stereo-Radio and listen to favorite music sometimes on Stereo. The variety helps to greatly stay upto date and relax. I mostly listen to CBC Radio 1 at: www.cbc.ca I am also tempted to buy this collection and reflecting on it: http://www.audiobooksforfree.com/xMP3/mp3DVDaudiobooks.asp Even at $10 per Audio Book, 535*10=$5350, hence this collection seems really worth it. My only consideration is, will I have the time to listen to them all. Will I continue to listen to Audio books or is this just a passing fad. If this interest continues for me for three months in Audio Books, then I might purchase that set. The Publishers of this don't mind copying a few Audio Books for friends, relatives. This set can also be regifted, makes an excellent gift for the right person, some good selections can be listened to more than once, increasing its value and adding thousands of hours of listening pleasure etc., etc., If I get this set, I plan to make an extra copy for myself for safety and store it separately should something happen to the original. I have also listened to Audio Books from Librivox.org. It is fun to listen to amateurs and some of them talk too fast etc., However, when one is tired and really wishes to relax with Audio Books, the quality of those Professional Audio Books is certainly undeniable. One can feel the difference. Please share any experience, sites, info. you have have regarding Audio Books/Radio/Stereo People seem to be getting rid of their old stereos/boom boxes. One of my neighbours recently moved out and gave me an old Sony Stereo. He was going to throw this in the garbage !! Over half the FM dial has poor reception. However, after some cleaning, the CD plays good and high quality. A few weks ago, I saw a stereo dumped infront of a home. Now I really regret not picking it up. Atleast the speakers could have been put to use. It is sad that someone dumps a good system just because one component fails a little. There are others who would really appreciate to have this. Lastly, if I am not here that often, please understand that I am probably listening to an AudioBook. Regards to all, Vijay
