Guest guest Posted August 23, 2008 Report Share Posted August 23, 2008 Vegetarian Apple Maple Breakfast Sausages Ingredients 1 tube (14 oz) Gimme Lean Sausage Style 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 Tbsp olive oil, divided 0.5 tsp salt 0.25 tsp ground black pepper 2 oz maple syrup (not pancake syrup) 1 small apple, peeled and finely chopped 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg Nutritional Info Fat: 2.4g Carbohydrates: 13.4g Calories:103.7 Protein: 7.3g Saute onion with 1 Tbsp olive oil, salt and pepper until lightly caramelized. In a medium bowl, combine the sauted onions with the apples, spices and maple syrup. Cut a slit down side of sausage tube, and moisten hands with cold water before removing. Mix with other ingredients by hand. Separate mixture into 8 equal-sized patties. Pan fry in remaining olive oil over medium-high heat until each side is browned, approximately 3-5 minutes per side.
