Guest guest Posted August 20, 2008 Report Share Posted August 20, 2008 Nepali Lentil Patties 1 cup brown lentils 1 tablespoon ginger paste or grated ginger 1/4 teaspoon asafetida or a crushed garlic clove 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder (Jeera) 3 tablespoon ghee or butter or margarine some cracker crumbs salt to taste Boil lentils in water until done not mushy and drain. Mash lentils. Add all the spices to the lentils and mix well, add enough cracker crumbs until they hold together a little bit.. Heat few drop of ghee in the pan. Put the lentil paste on the pan in small patty shape (just like pancake). Cook golden brown on both sides and serve hot. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
