clear gel

I am getting together a list of items I want to buy on my trip to South Dakota.

Some will be available in stores there and some will need to be ordered and

shipped there. One of the items on my list is Clear Gel and I have no idea why

I thought I needed/wanted it. I understand from reading info that it's for

thickening pies. Since I no longer bake, there must be another use for it.

I've searched the messages and also the vegan/vegetarian blogs I read and can't

find a reference to it.

 

Who can tell me what is the alternate use.
