Guest guest Posted August 16, 2008 Report Share Posted August 16, 2008 Asian Fresh Gai Lon Salad 1 lb. gai lon stalks peeled *see note 2 tbsps. vinegar 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tbsp. sesame oil 1 tsp. sugar 1 tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted Cut peeled stalks lengthwise into uniform spears, then cut spears in half crosswise. Cook gai lon in 1 inch of boiling salted water for 10 to15 minutes or until just done. Drain and chill. In a screw top jar combine vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar, cover and shake to mix well and sugar is dissolved. Pour dressing over gai lon, toss to coat and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Yields 4 to 6 servings. Note-You can use chard, bok choy or broccoli. Here is what it looks like and you can gind from Asian market.
