Guest guest
Speaking of barley and mushrooms, I made my first recipe from the files. I made the green peppers stuffed with barley and mushrooms and they were fabulous! The only thing I did different was to add a little garlic. --- On Mon, 8/4/08, Granny Mae <gran_mae wrote: > Granny Mae <gran_mae > Barley with Mushrooms > > Monday, August 4, 2008, 11:43 AM > If you don't have vegetarian powder use vegetarian broth > instead of water. > > Mae Jean > > > Barley with Mushrooms > > 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced > 2 medium onions, chopped > 2 tablespoons butter or margarine > 3 1/4 cups boiling water > 1 cup barley > 2 teaspoons instant vegetarian bouillon powder > 1/2 teaspoon salt > dash of pepper > > Cook and stir mushrooms and onions in butter 5 minutes; > place in ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
