Guest guest
Hi Lara, We have a pizza recipe folder in the recipe files. Don't give up and hang in there. Why don't you make the pizza in the oven and then heat it up on foil on the grill so it doesn't have to be near the meat? I know it's hard for you. You have us for support. Do you have contact with other vegetarian friends in your area? Guest guest
Sorry--very delyed in ready emails--had a 4 year ldand a 5 year old spend the night last nite! Here's my pizza recipe Crust: 1 c. very warm water 1 pkg. yeast 3 c. flour ½ tsp. salt Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix in flour and salt. (I have a KitchenAid) Switch to dough hook attachment and knead on " 2 " for 3 minutes, if kneading by hand, 5-8 minutes. Cover bowl with dish towel and allow to rise in warm place until doubled or about 30 minutes. Sauce: 1/3 cup chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 8 oz. can tomato sauce Fill empty 8 oz. tomato sauce can with water and add to sauce pan 1 6 oz. can tomato paste 2 tsp. Italian seasoning Brown onion and garlic in small amount of olive oil in skillet. Switch onions and garlic to medium sauce pan and add tomato sauce, water, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning—let simmer 30 minutes with lid on--otherwise it's all over your stove. Preheat pizza stones at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Pat out dough with hands greased with nonstick spray on pizza pan or cookie sheet sprinkled with cornmeal. Spread sauce over dough. Add toppings and cheese. Transfer to hot pizza stones; bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. My recipes says 30 minutes if not pizza stones--not sure about on the grill.Makes 2 pizzas You have my sympathy about a nonvegetarian family--last Sat my family had a cookout and my daughter-in-law made baked beans with bacon. When I said I couldn't eat them she said she just thinks of food as food! You just can't change some people!
