Guest guest
Donna, Do you know that I know love Tofu right out of the package too, rinsed if it isn't Mori-Nu? When I was working at our SDA summer camp this summer and we were making baked Tofu " Egg " Slices(we rolled it in a seasoning mix), I could eat a piece without even baking it...... Folks thought I was crazy, but I said that I had started seeing chunks of it on salad bars and it was really good. Here is repost of our recipe for Baked Tofu " Eggs " that we used. It is so good. Kids and staff really loved these. Baked Tofu " Eggs " Slices 1 lb. Tofu, water packed - Extra Firm - drain and rinse Cut into 1/4 inch thick strips and roll in the " Chicken Seasoning " mix below. Bake on a sprayed baking sheet @ 350 for about 15 minutes and then flip the slices over to crisp up on the other side for about 15 more minutes. If you like it crispier, let it stay longer on each side. " Chicken Seasoning " 1 1/3 c. Nutrititional Yeast Flakes 3 T. Onion Powder 2 1/2 t. Garlic Powder 2 1/2 t. Salt 2 T. Parsley 1/2 t. Celery Salt 2 T. Italian Seasoning 1 t. Tumeric Mix together and store in a ziplock bag for use in recipes that call for Chicken Seasoning. It is good in Soups, breading meal and for use in making Scrambled Egg Tofu. Enjoy, Judy
