Guest guest
Our Question of the Week - Where are you from(be as vague or specific as you choose)? Hello, I;m ktj and currently in Western Pa(United States) ---------- ------- What helped you consider being a vegetarian? 1. Francis Moore Lappe's book when i tcame( yes, I'm that old..lol) 2. Peta website 3. becoming a Buddhist 4. I love vegetables! ======================================== What do you enjoy about being a vegetarian? Everything....the fo0d is good, it's cheaper for the most part, it's good for my health, it's compassionate for the animals and the planet, its an efficient use of resources...etc etc.. ============================================== What tips do you suggest to new vegetarians? Rinse the quinoa very well- if you are not used to eating a lot of fiber, go slow at first or you and everyone around you will be very uncomfortable..... ummm...cook food you like and try something new to expand your palate- and most of all- enjoy yourself! ---------- -------------- I found going totally vegetarian quite a challenge becuase I love the taste of chicken, and sausages....and shrimp- it was hard to give them up...but Morningstar Farms has good analogs and i am satisfied with those when i get cravings for those flavors. Also, I found that i really had to change the scale of my cooking...before i would make one big thing and eat it for a few days or more till it was gone...with veggies they don;t necessarily stay ok even the refrig that long..so i cook more often in terms of number of times per week- but i am cooking more interesting and healthier food, so now i enjoy everything about it, the cooking, the eating, and all the benefits! in gassh0, ktj
