Guest guest
My mom emailed the Quorn company yesterday afternoon asking if they were gluten-free. Here is the response (within 12 hours!) from them. I thought other people might be interested if they have gluten allergies. Thank you for your inquiry regarding the presence of gluten or wheat derivatives in Quorn foods. We currently have two products which do not contain added gluten according to the information provided by our ingredients suppliers. However, these products do contain wheat as gluten-free maltodextrin in the flavorings. They are: Quorn Recipe Tenders and Quorn Turkey-Style Roast. Quorn Recipe Grounds do not contain added wheat, but barley malt extract does contain a small amount of gluten. However, please be advised that all of our products are made in a facility which processes wheat and gluten products, and we are therefore unable to guarantee that these products are totally wheat and gluten-free. Please be assured that we are looking into ways of removing any risk of cross-contamination at all, and hope that in the future we will be able to offer some gluten -free products, but cannot say when this may be. We hope that you find this information satisfactory, but if you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
