Guest guest
Mono and diglycerides are seemingly ubiquitous ingredients in processed foods. I have read that they are usually derived from soybean, cottonseed, sunflower, or palm oil, but that they can be derived from animal tissue as well. Does anyone know if one source is more prevalent than the other? These little boogers are in the ice cream we plan to enjoy later, and I obviously don't want to indulge if the glycerides came from an animal. At least the ice cream does not contain gelatin! (Yes, I realize that ice cream is a dairy product, but I am ovo-lacto!) Padmasanadave " Changing the world one bite at a time... "
