veggie burgers to grill?

I've been browsing the veggie burger file and I have made home made veg patties

a few

times and always enjoyed them. However, with it being an official kind of

grilling out

weekend I was wondering if any of the recipes will hold up to grill rather than

be baked or

skillet fried. Anyone grilled homemade burgers with success???

If I pre bake them to get the burgers to hold together and then grill them

would that dry

everything out? I was thinking about a black bean recipe or I think it was the

spinach and

red bean burger sounded good too. anywho...thanks!

I don't enjoy the results of grilling the veggie

burgers to cook them; it does dry them out

since most veg burger recipes are very low in

fat. What I like to do is pre-cook them in a skillet,

then brush them with a zippy homemade BBQ

sauce and just grill for a few minutes on each side,

basting in olive oil and BBQ sauce to keep them

from getting tough or dry.

I have a gas grill with a gas burner for a pan on

one side, so I can cook the burgers out there,

and transfer to the grill area for the last few minutes.

I really like this feature.
