For me, I don't find it necessary to make people less vegetarian if they

choose to eat milk products and eggs (ovo-lacto-vegetarian), or to eat fish

(pesco-vegetarian). I find it to be a very personal and tolerant way of eating,

tho some would disagree. I've had a couple go-rounds with strict vegans (NO

animal products of ANY kind in ANY thing including clothing) and I just refuse

to get into a mouth battle about it. It's just too great a way of peaceful

living to have anyone be judgmental about the kind of ve*an I choose to be!

I just joined recently and have been very interested in the

conversations here as well as the wonderful recipe sharing. As I

mentioned when I joined, most of my friends are vegetarian and

although I personally am not, the way that I eat and the things that I

choose to eat make many people think that I am. I just happen to like

good-for-you food and no one can deny that the vegetarian diet is a

super healthy one.

My question is this: some of my friends allow only eggs and dairy

products in their diet, some allow all kinds of seafood, some are

vegan; not a one eats red meat or chicken, but all of them consider

themselves to be vegetarian . These are intelligent, caring people

who made this choice (many when they were teenagers)for all sorts of

very good reasons. Do others of you take the same sort of liberal

view of what it means to be a vegetarian?

I'm a very instinctivley inclusive person and I have no quibble with

how they want to view themselves, but I'm very curious what people's

thoughts on this subject might be. Sharita
