Guest guest Posted June 23, 2008 Report Share Posted June 23, 2008 String Beans with Tomatoes 1/4 tsp black pepper 1-1/2 tsp fresh thyme, chopped 1 pound green beans, trimmed 1 cup chopped celery 4 scallions, thinly sliced 2 large tomatoes, chopped Directions: Prepare green beans by cutting off tips and cutting into 2-inch (5 cm)pieces. Place green beans in a medium sauce pan, add ground pepper and enough water to cover green beans. Over high heat, bring water to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer for 10 minutes. Add tomatoes, celery, thyme, and scallions to saucepan and simmer an additional 10 minutes, until the green beans and celery are tender.
