Guest guest
Never been there? I drive almost that many miles to work. In our terms it would be considered a far neighbor. How about Wales? My friend mever visited Wales until she moved to the states and went back for a visit with her husband. He wanted to see Wales. Guest guest
Transport is obviously the key. I work about 40 miles from home but I don't drive and it can take between 1.5 - 2 hours to get there by bus and train. Getting to Bathgate might well take a similar amount of time so I'd need a good reason to go there. If I'm heading out of town for the day I'd be more likely to go east of here - sea, sand and scenery. I lived in Quebec, Canada for a while and we thought nothing of travelling 50 miles just to go to the cinema. So I think you have a whole other perspective on distance in North America. I've been to Wales many times - we used to go there every year for summer holidays when I was a child. Christie purplepassion <thelilacflower> wrote: > > Never been there? Guest guest
I have people ask me about some of the tourist attractions and I have no clue. I usually avoid those places, like you I'd rather go feed the birds at the beach and stay away from crowds or places of no interest to me. Plus I have zero sense of direction so I know if I head somewhere I have to allow myself time getting lost.............LOL Donna christie_0131 <christie0131 wrote: Transport is obviously the key. Guest guest
You're very welcome Christie. Oh wow, that must have been tough to be out of your own home for 2 months, but I hope the new look is beautiful. Your friend was very kind and thoughtful to let you and your fur babies move in with her. Looking forward to more of your posts. Judy - christie_0131 Thursday, June 12, 2008 5:51 AM Re: Mo and chupa now where is Marilyn Aw thanks for thinking of me, Judy. I have been staying with a friend whilst I had some new floors put into my house and now after 2 months I am finally home and starting the clean up. My kitchen is thick with sawdust so until I get it cleaned up properly I am using the microwave to heat up things I pre-cooked and froze before I moved out. Can't wait to get cooking again. I've been staying with an omnivore on an Atkins diet. She is a dear friend to have had me and my cats stay with her in her wee flat for so long, but I am soooo glad to be home and away from the smell of m**t!! I shall be back trying out recipes and posting soon. Christie , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > I was thinking about Marilyn too. Where is Christie too........ Glad to see you posting more too Isis. Guest guest
Christie, It is so great to hear from you. We've been missing you and worried about you. Glad to see you posting and enjoyed reading about the things you love about Istanbul. Judy - christie_0131 Thursday, March 19, 2009 9:28 PM Hi Muzo Re: here's a good laugh for you. Hi Donna When you do your European tour, come visit me in Scotland and we will hop on a plane and go to Istanbul. It is one of my favourite cities, the only one in the whole world that is in two continents at the same time. From the Bosphorous it appears to float on the water like Venice - it's so beautiful. You would love the Spice Bazaar. Let me know when you are coming over and I will brush up on my Turkish! Christie
