Guest guest Posted June 17, 2008 Report Share Posted June 17, 2008 Grilled Pear on Blue Cheese 2 baguettes 1/4 cup superfine sugar 1 cup olive oil 4 ripe pears, preferably Anjou or Bosc 6 ounces cream cheese 6 ounces blue cheese Cut bread into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Lightly toast until golden on both sides. Prepare grill. In small saucepan, heat sugar and olive oil until sugar melts. Cut pears into 1/4-inch slices; brush with sugar and oil mixture. Place pears on hot grill; cook until done, turning once as needed. Pears should char lightly during cooking. In microwave-safe bowl, combine equal parts cream cheese and blue cheese; heat in microwave until very soft, about 20 seconds. Stir to blend. Spread cheeses onto toasted bread slices; place pears on top. Makes about 48 appetizers. Calories 87, Fat 5 g, Carbs 9 g, Sodium 132 mg, Fiber 1 g.
