Ginger Ale

 

Ingredients

 3 c fresh ginger, unpeeled, scrubbed, and chopped

2 c sugar

2 Q regular water

4 Q sparkling water or seltzer

 

Directions Grind ginger in food processor, place in saucepan with sugar and

regular water, and bring to a boil. Lower heat and let simmer for an hour.

Remove from heat, let cool, and strain.

Combine ginger syrup with sparkling water and serve. To make individual

servings, use ¼ c syrup plus 1 c water.

 

Notes Keep unused syrup refrigerated in tightly covered container for up to 2

months.

To make ginger tea, combine 3-4 T of syrup with 1 c boiling water.
