Guest guest Posted June 7, 2008 Report Share Posted June 7, 2008 * Exported from MasterCook * Green Chilli Flan Recipe By :Bill Gunn Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Chilli Variations Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 ounces unsalted butter 6 ounces savoury biscuits -- finely crushed 2 eggs -- beaten 2 ounces plain flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 pint soured cream 4 ounces cream cheese 6 tablespoons double cream 1 can green chillies -- (3.9 oz) drained and chopped 1 jalapeno chilli -- deseeded and chopped 2 ounces mild cheddar cheese -- grated 1 thin avocado slices to garnish Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the biscuit crumbs. Stir well until all the butter has been absorbed. Press the mixture into a greased 23-cm/9-in flan dish and chill for 30 minutes in the fridge. Set the oven at moderate (180C, 350F, gas 4). Mix all the remaining ingredients together, beat until they are thoroughly combined and pour over the biscuit crust. Bake for about 40 minutes, until the centre is cooked, when a skewer should come out clean. Garnish with avocado slices and serve immediately. Serves 4-8 VARIATION Try using different varieties of biscuits or crackers in the crust, such as sesame seed crackers or wholewheat biscuits.
