Guest guest Posted June 7, 2008 Report Share Posted June 7, 2008 Here's my version Kamal I Like It Hot Puttanesca Sauce 1/4 cup good olive oil 1 small yellow onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes 1 28 oz. can whole tomatoes, pureed in food processor 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce 1/3 cup black olives or green olives, chopped 3 tbsp. mashed capers 1 minced serrano pepper 2 tbsps. fresh parsley, chopped (I used flat leaf Italian parsley) Sauté onion, garlic, and red pepper flakes in oil 2 to 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, olives, capers, serrano pepper, and oregano. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, with lid cocked to the side a little bit for 20 minutes. Add and parsley.
