Cousin Fatimas Brown Sugar Balsamic Syrup

1 quart balsamic vinegar

1/2 cup brown sugar, or more to taste

1 t. Aleppo pepper flakes, or 1/2 t. red pepper flakes and 1/2 t. cayenne pepper

Simmer together in a non stick sauce pan, until reduced to about a cup and it

has a syrupy consistency. Be careful not to scorch. Will keep in the fridge for

several weeks.

Makes 1 cup

ChupaNote; this is a very intensely flavored syrup. If you don't like hot foods,

start with 1/4 t. pepper and work your way up. If you want a sweeter syrup,

start with 1 cup brown sugar to 1 quart vinegar.

Please give me some ideas of how you use this syrup. Sounds delicious but I

don't have a clue what to do with it!
