Guest guest Posted May 31, 2008 Report Share Posted May 31, 2008 * Exported from MasterCook * Hot Tossed Cabbage - 3 pts, 12g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber Recipe By :Quick After-Work Vegetarian Cookbook by Judy Ridgway Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Low Calorie (less than 300) Low Carb Spicy Veggie WW Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 tablespoons raisins 1/4 cup orange juice grated orange peel -- a little 2 tablespoons cider vinegar 3 tablespoons cooking oil 1 teaspoon whole cumin seed 1 teaspoon black mustard seeds -- or yellow mustard seeds 1 onion -- peeled and sliced 1 1/2 cups green cabbage -- finely shredded 3/4 cup red cabbage -- finely shredded Garnish: 2 tablespoons slivered almonds -- toasted Combine raisins, orange juice, orange peel, and vinegar. Set aside. Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet or wok. Saute the whole spices about 1 minute until they begin to pop. Add onion and cabbage and stir-fry 3-4 minutes. Add raisin mixture and cook 1-2 minutes longer. Serve hot from the pan, garnished with toasted flaked almonds. Makes 4 servings. Toasted seeds and orange juice give a wonderfully aromatic flavor to this unusual cabbage dish. Serve with rice and curries.
