Kelly,

Do you live near Zellwood, then? I thought that name sounded

familiar, and when I looked on a map--I saw it is near where Mom and Dad

used to live--Tavares and Mt. Dora area (the " lake area " ) in central Florida. I

also know where Chesterton, Indiana is! I was born in Ft. Wayne, and lived near

both Indianapolis and then later, Lafayette (Purdue country!) Our family went

up to the Dunes State Park a few times, too, when I was pretty young. Nice

area! My DH is from just across the state line, Kankakee, IL.

Thank you also for the good word about the Boca " chicken " patties. I'd

like to try them. I tend to be pretty cautious about ingredients. Not because

so much of the " animal/non-animal connection " but if it says " corn oil " or " corn

syrup " on it (unless the corn thing is " organic " )--I'm outta there. It just

disagrees with my system, for some reason.

I know Boca products, except for maybe a couple of the " burger " items,

are not organic. And I think that goes also for the not-chicken patties, as

well. I have tried the one called " Amy's " , I think, and the " Gardenburger " is

another. I think there is also a brand called " Veggie-Burger " and they make

different kinds of patties, at least one of which is " vegan " and a couple are

also " organic " .

Boca USED to make a " smoked sausage " non-meat product. Looked just like

a regular sausage. I never found it in the store, only a description on their

website--but they had discontinued it--OH, what a shame!!! (If there's any

" meat " thing that I really can say I LIKE --and of course, it's not good for me

or anyone else--it would be SMOKED sausage--and with saurkraut on it, too!!)

I haven't found any kind of non-meat " dog " or " sausage " variety that comes

close to that flavor and would really LIKE to do so!

I have a brother who still lives in Florida--not far from Tampa area. We

(DH and I) get down that way about once a year, but this year we have to miss

the trip! Our older DD and her DH are now living in Arizona, so this summer

our " vacation " trip will be west to see her and DSIL in Sedona. When Mom and

Dad lived in Tavares, we loved visiting there and seeing the little shops in Mt.

Dora and visiting the neat park, " Kelly Park " and going innertubing down the

stream there with our 2 daughters when they were young. What fun it was!

Thanks for the information and thanks for replying to my silly

questions! Nice getting to know you! I hope you have a fine weekend and a

pleasant day today!

Laura - Yes, I am a transplant. & nbsp; I moved to Central Florida in 1983 when I

was 21 from Northern Indiana (Chesterton - Indiana Dunes National

Lakeshore). & nbsp; We have a great farmer's market, but the tomatoes still taste

nasty. & nbsp; Every once in awhile they'll have some from Tennessee,which taste

good. & nbsp;

When I first moved here, I couldn't eat the sweet corn, which everyone raved

about the " Zellwod Sweetcorn " , because I came from real sweet corn

country. & nbsp; Now I've gotten used to the corn and other veggies, except those

darm

tomatoes.

& nbsp;

I love the Boca chickien patties. & nbsp; I heat them in the toaster oven on 450

until crispy, then add cheese. & nbsp; I tried another brand that I really liked

also which was crispier, but I can't find them or remember their name. Last

night I made spaghetti with the frozen meat crumbles (don't remember brand, but

they were in the frozen section at Walmart by the boca burgers/chicken). & nbsp;

I

didn't tell my family and they liked everything, but the chunks of veggies in

the sauce.

& nbsp;

I never liked guacamole until my mom made this version. & nbsp; It tastes great

with fritos, and you can freeze quacamole, although I'd probably add a touch of

lemon juice to keep from browning.

& nbsp;

I don't mind the questions, it feels nice to help especially being the " new "

veggie kid on the block!
