Guest guest Posted May 13, 2008 Report Share Posted May 13, 2008 Soft Pretzels Makes 8 pretzels 8 tablespoons of warm water 1 tsp. granulated sugar 1 tsp. yeast 1 cup flour a pinch of salt coarse salt 1 egg 2-3 tsp. water Dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Add the sugar and pinch of salt. Blend in the flour and knead until the dough is smooth. Cut the dough into 8 pieces and roll each piece into a rope. Twist the rope into a pretzel shape. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Place pretzels on foiled lined baking sheets.combine the egg with 2 to 3 tsp. of water. Brush this over the tops of the pretzels, and sprinkle them with coarse salt. I bought some pretzels at the store that my son decided he did not like. I will have to try these when I cook something else in the oven!! Thanks, Jenn!!
