It is well worth any effort. Growing up I learned to cook a variety of local fresh veggies in simple delicious ways. Not overcooked. My mom was a nurse and many of the fellow nursing staff had husbands that were farmers and we got to go pick lots of fresh produce after the fields had been picked for the market. My mom didn t make any casseroles, or out of the ordinary veggies. We were raised vegetarian and enjoyed the many Worthington/Loma Linda meat substitutes. Those are so amazing, quick to use, versatile and delicious. When I got out on my own, I started buying cookbooks and drooling over those recipes and ones in magazines and the food section of the newspaper. I cut out recipes from magazines and newspapers and put them in a photo albums to preserved them. Once I started cooking recipes from cookbooks and those I had clipped, I realized what a wonderful world of taste was at my finger tips if I cooked/baked and that is where the true love of cooking came. You limit your taste buds and yummy food to eat, when you don't cook. That would be a shame. Cooking and baking are very easy. My 14 & 17 old daughters say that too and can't imagine why anyone wouldn't like it or do it. Now that you've joined this group, you've got wonderful tried and true vegetarian recipes at your finger tips in our recipe files. http://groups Just start making a menu from it and you'll be hooked. It is an evolving process that you feel more and more enjoyment, pride and enjoy branching out and trying things prepared in new and many different ways. Retrain those taste buds to not be picky. You've got to many health delicious vegetarian foods out there than to deprive yourself of them. Have fun and use that kitchen, Judy - pierce407720032003 Sunday, May 11, 2008 8:26 PM picky eater and learning to like to cook I'm a picky eater and hate cooking. But I see the pictures or descriptions of recipes and some look so good. How do I make myself like cooking? Did liking it come naturally for all of you or is there anyone else that had to teach themself to like doing it? Thanks, Uhura
