I believe these products make it a lot easier for newbie vegetarians as they

adjust to their new lifestyle. Many new vegetarians miss the texture and flavor

at first. It's a good thing these products are readily available, makes it

easier to adjust as you experiment in the kitchen cooking foods you wouldn't

normally have eaten during your non-veg days. I completely understand the logic

behind it.

They weren't around when I become vegetarian and I was used to making bean

burgers and things of that nature. I prefer making burgers and loaves, if the

products on the market taste too close to the real thing I don't care for them.

Yay! For the Boca, Gardenburger, Worthington, Quorn, Veat, Yves, SmartLife,

Tofurky, TVP, Tempeh, Seitan and all the rest of the products out there.

I always find it amusing that allot of vegetarians try and find things

that resemble dead animal products.

I look at stuff in the store and see tofu dogs, ?chicken nuggets and

other things. Not sure what the logic is behind this. I am repulsed by

meat and don't want my vegetarian food named after something I would

not eat or resemble it. Do love vegi burgers, black bean is my

favorite so I am sorta on board with this idea in a way.,So animal

named vegi food is for the people riding the fence so to speak and

still have some kind of connection to animal products. That is my

theory. I have never tried tofu dogs, Might be good. I do have some

fake bacon in the freezer that is for something I am trying next week.

So I am open to the fake animal food to.
