Guest guest
I don't know if anyone ever answered this but here is my recipe for Marinara sauce. This is the only one I make now Marinara Sauce 1/4 c olive oil 4 cloves garlic sliced in half 1 35oz can of imported Italian tomatoes 3 basil leaves, washed, patted dry and chopped 1/2 t of oregano salt & pepper to taste 1. place garlic and olive oil in large sauce pan. 2. turn heat to medium and cook until garlic is soft and lightly browned 3. crush the tomatoes and add with their juices 4. fill empty tomato can 1/4 of the way with water and pour in with tomatoes (I usually omit this step) 5. add basil, oregano, salt and pepper. 6. bring to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer and cook until thickened approximately 20 to 30 minutes. I use dried basil if I don't have fresh and depending on what size of can of tomatoes I have in the house that is what I use. Enjoy. It is very simple but tasty. My kids enjoy it as well. Thanks! Robin in NC
