Guest guest
Hi dears! My chosen vegetarian diet is lacto-vegetarian because like some other yogis, I believe in how the forces that predominate foods affect and promote energies for our well-being. As such, I take mostly sentient foods (sattvika) which help maintain calm and peaceful nature, good for body-mind-spirit integration. I also take some mutative foods which promote restless movement & activity but not too much because I may become overstimulated. Since I do a lot of mental work and meditations, I don't like to be very restless.I avoid static food that promote the energy of decay & death, inertia, lack of energy & initiative & dullness. Onions, garlic, and mushrooms are among the static food category and may promote listlessness, both in emotions & mind. Overacidity is one of the chief causes of disease and garlic & onions create much heat in the body & may cause or aggravate ulcers, etc. Mushrooms decay very rapidly, producing higly toxic ptomaine alkaloids and are difficult to digest if eaten in quantity. In many cases, the amount of energy needed to extract useful nutrients from mushrooms is more than the energy gained. Personal reactions to mushroom consumption is highly variable. However, situations, climate, activity change categories and some static foods may even become mutative or sentient, or even useful for body heat. Like in extremely cold places, meat or some alcohol may be necessary, and the effect is not static. Thanks for being patient Deann. I hope I explained well.Terry and Katie, I read your posts avidly, among others who regulalrly share. THANK YOU! Ofel Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Thank you for your most complete answer. I respect your reasons, but I can't imagine eating without onions and garlic, so I figure I will just keep on eating them. Katie ofelia santos <ofelia_santos326 wrote: Hi dears!
