Guest guest
Does anyone have any Vegetarian cookbooks they would recommend? I am transitioning, and am looking for good recipes. I bought two at a local book store - the convenient vegetarian and low carb vegetarian, but I really want more.
Guest guest
I strongly recommend Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone by Deborah Madison. Everything I've made from it was outstanding, even though I always seem to tweek the recipes a little. I can't eat soy, so I really appreciate the wide variety of vegetarian dishes she offers that don't contain tofu and tempeh. Even her " basics " , like the bechamel sauce and tomato-wine sauce, are markedly better than others that I've tried. It also offers pairings of herbs, etc. for each individual vegetable, so you can almost use it as a cooking encyclopedia. Vegetarian Times magazine has been another good source for me, though more than their actual cookbook. Good luck!
