Hi Mindy,

I always say I'd love to write a book and just call it my kitchen disasters.

They are so funny now but at the time they could bring you near tears. Now if

something doesn't come out good I just call my nephew, he and his buddies eat

anything and give you plenty of compliments too. LOL

If you fail just get back in there and try again.  Sometimes it isn't us at

all,  the recipe is just nasty!  I will never forget the almost $40 and time it

took me to loacte all the ingredients for a chectnut soup, this is L.A. and

chestnuts aren't easy to find.  They soup was the worst color I have ever seen

and down the drain it went.  That was a BAD recipe.

I love to read about past experiences in the kitchen, it sure does make u

realize we are not the only one!!!!

Hugs right back to you,

Donna xoxoxo

Donna,

I'm so glad to hear that I am not the only one that has had the bad

experiences. I have made several dishes and thrown them out after one

bite. Many recipes have found their way to the trash bin to never be

made again or even thought of. I was never great when it came to

cooking anyways and then to decide to become vegetarian and cook a

whole new way was a tragic in the beginning. At one point I thought

no way is this going to work for me, but I hung in there and just kept

trying new recipes and tweaking some to make them my own. Now I'm

glad to say that my bad meals are few and far between. I do still

have some that I throw out and never make again, but not as many as in

the beginning. Thanks for sharing your story, Donna.

Hugs,

Mindy

experienced it all. I've tossed many dishes out due to failure, over

seasoned several, peeled my fingers with the potato peeler, dropped

the whole dinner I was to serve guests on the floor in front of them,

turned a plate of food on myself and wrecked many an outfit, caught my

hot pads on fire, gone to cook a meal and come to find out I forgot to

buy the main ingredient, looked on the left side of a cookbook when I

was preparing something from the right side and tossed in wrong

ingredients, spend a lot on a recipe that sounded fantastic only to

find out it was TERRIBLE, and I wouldn't change anything for the

world. It's all trial and error and if you plant your two feet on the

kitchen floor and try again there's a 99% chance you will create a

keeper of a recipe. It's all been fun.
