Vegetarian White and Black Chili 1 1/2 cups white navy beans (dry) 1 cup black beans (dry) 3 cups vegetable broth, might need more water or broth 1 14 ounce can of stewed tomatoes Rotel is a good spicy brand 3 cloves of garlic chopped 2 onions chopped 1 carrot very thin slices 2 stalks celery chopped 1/4 cup chopped cilantro salt and pepper (add the salt in at the end, makes beans cook up more tender this way) 2 serrano or jalapeno peppers minced 11/2 tsps. cumin 1 1/2 tblspns. chili powder 1/2 cup of TVP that has been soaked in 1/2 cup of hot water and add a dash of liquid smoke to the water I place all ingredient into crockpot plus I add 1/2 can beer along with enough water to cover about 5 inches above.
