I travel allot and take lunch with me.

Looking for some portable great tasting vegetarian food.

I do not eat avocados or pineapple. Other than that I am pretty open to

new ideas.

Anybody with ideas on some food I can take with me on the go that does

not require cooking and minimal cooling. I can cook the day before just

not on the road and have no way to heat up stuff.

Along with food maybe some juice or drink ideas. I enjoy a glass of

juices in the morning with breakfast which I usually have while

traveling.

Thanks

Hi,

This may not be what would work for you, but I thought I'd mention it as

just an " idea " . You said you have to travel a lot " on the road " , but I didn't

know if that meant you fly or drive yourself when you have to travel.

Anyway, in another recipe group for " slowcooking " , one of the members

there posted a few months ago how she actually COOKS on the road, using a small

crock pot (slow cooker) and uses an adapter " plug-in " device that fits into her

vehicle's " lighter " socket. The small slow cooker uses very little power, and

she said she makes sure the cooker is secured and has the lid fastened down to

prevent spilling hot food.

This member other group member is a long-distance truck driver, but she

recommends the idea because she cooks what she wants, has HOT meals when she

stops to eat and doesn't have to settle for " truck-stop-diner food " or

fast-food,.which is generally unhealthy, however you look at it!

Of course, there are all kinds of foods that you can take when traveling

that don't have to be kept hot or cooked. I just thought I would mention this

unusual idea, because, although I have never done this, the idea of cooking and

traveling at the same time intrigued me.
