Oneida Tribe Corn Sticks - Native American

1 cup cornmeal

2 cups molasses

1/3 cup flour

2 teaspoons salt

1 cup milk

1 egg

2 tablespoons butter, melted or vegetable shortening

Mix cornmeal, flour, salt. Add milk, egg and butter; beat until smooth. Fill

well-greased cornstick pans almost to the top (or pour into a greased 8-inch

pan). Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Serve with

molasses or maple syrup.
