I've already asked a few questions, and thought I should give a

little info on myself. I've never been much a meat eater, but, like

most people, believed you'd die if you didn't have it in your diet

somewhere! We usually only ate meat once a day, maybe 1 or 2 oz at

supper time. Sometimes we skipped it and had a big salad or rice

with egg in it. Then my husband went on a long business trip about

the same time I just happened to notice the soy products right beside

the diet frozen dinners at Walmart. I bought a few things, like

Black Bean Chipotle burgers, which I eat Mex style sides, and

portabella which I ate on toasted whole wheat bread with a big onion

slice and lots of lettuce, some Amy's frozen dinners..... and before

I knew it, a month was up ... and I realized, I hadn't eaten any meat

the whole time he was gone! I made a few meat meals when he got

home.... and when I put it in my mouth, it was like trying to chew on

a wart, I couldn't bite it and finally spit it out. Now I even have

him eating the soy burgers and he's not minding. We always were big

veggie fruit eaters, so it was no problem in that area. I was very

happy to read that Kraft Philladelphia cream cheese (I use 1/3 less)

was rennet free. I love it on a toasted whole wheat mini bagel.

Well, I guess that kind of gives an introduction to how I got to this

group now. Oh, and I joined weight watchers last year and lost 40

pounds. I have this wonderful book called Practical Vegetarian

Cookery, but while looking at the recipes, it ocurred to me that just

because they were vegetarian, didn't mean they weren't high calorie!

Yikes! I want to maintain my weight loss, for sure, so will have to

think about the ingredients in these recipes that look SOOOO good.
