Good Morning;

My name is Karen. I am an artist and I cook for a house full of

roommates. I love to develop basic recipes that can be altered to suit

seasonal produce, and I love to try new foods and meet new people.

I raise cooking herbs in my " potted " garden, and I travel a lot with

my sketchpad. I'm not very knowledgeable regarding vegetarian or

vegan replacements for animal products, so please feel free to chime

in on that regard to any recipe I provide, if you feel that butter or

milk might not be appropriate.

I make some ingredients that I can't always buy, including exotic

spice mixes, herbal cooking jellies and veggie broths. I also

experiment with old recipes from medieval manuscripts.

My kitchen is too messy to pass for Martha Stewart's, and I'm always

running out of wine...

Favorite cookbook: Monastery Soups

Welcome Karen!

Any old manuscript recipe that turned out well and that you would like

to share? this sounds interesting.

I also find that growing herbs helps tremendously in cooking, it does

not matter how humble the ingredients, a sprinkle of fresh herbs and

it becomes gourmet food.
