Rice Apple Crisp 2 cups brown rice, short grain, cooked Peel and slice 6 large cooking apples mix with 1 cup of sugar 1/4 cup of water and microwave on high approximately 10 minutes or until soft. 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup corn syrup, maple syrup or rice syrup 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon salt, optional 3/4 cup rice flour or unbleached white flour 1 1/2 cups Quaker oats, rolled 6 tablespoons margarine 1/2 cup chopped nuts, almonds or walnuts Combine the cooked rice the apples, lemon juice, syrup and pour into a 9 x 13 " pan treated with non-stick oil spray or margarine. Mix flour oats brown sugar salt and cut in margarine until crumbly. Sprinkle over rice-apple mixture.
