Fresh Garbonza Beans & Veg. Cookbooks

Hope everyone had a good Easter Sunday!

 

I was wondering if anyone buys fresh garbonza beans? I had never seen them

until Saturday when we were at the store buying fresh vegetables for yesterday.

I bought almost a pound....shelled them and then refrigerated them with the

fresh green beans....then cooked them together yesterday. They were very good.

 

My other post is a funny story, I think. The other day I mentioned needing

cookbooks that are for diabetic vegetarians. I looked on ebay and found

several. I got the high bid easily on one called " Vegetarian Cooking for People

with Diabetes " for $3.00, another one called " Meatless Diabetic Cookbook " for

$2.29. I had put a bid on a recommended one titled, " Fresh from the Vegetarian

Slowcooker " and had the high bid the entire auction but was outbid at the end

with the ending bid being $9.07. I was disappointed but you can almost always

find duplicate copies on ebay so I did a search and all I found were more

expensive copies.....so searched a different way by just changing the search

wording. An auction came up titled,

" Lot of 14 Healthy Eating Vegetarian Cookbooks Magazines " with an opening bid

of .77 cents. So I looked thru the titles and " Fresh from the Vegetarian

Slowcooker " was one of the titles. I figured surely I would be outbid if I put

down the minimun bid put in a higher one. I was so busy yestersay (and tired

last night) that I didn't check ebay before I went to bed. This morning I found

to my delight that I was the high bidder.....and the funny part?

I was high bidder for .77 cents and $9.00 shipping so for a few cents more

than what the other book would have cost without shipping, I will be getting 14

cookbooks and magazines! If the other person who outbid me on the first copy

had been lucky enough to find this auction, they would have been the lucky one.

My 24 year old daughter and her husband like Sushi (yuck, yuck, double yuck)

so I will give her that one. Can't wait for the rest to arrive!
