Guest guest
If you eat dairy.....take a small, whole Brie cheese.... saute some sliced almonds in a little butter, soak some dried cranberries in hot water or some wine....drain well... put the cranberries and the almonds on top of the Brie... set the Brie on several sheets of phyllo....fold and twist the top....brush with an egg wash and bake in a hot oven, on a cookie sheet, until the phyllo is getting browned looking...can't remember how long....take it out and serve it with fresh sliced apples and crackers.....you will get rave reviews and everyone will love it. This is one of the appetizers I used to make when I was head chef and kitchen manager at The Barkley House restaurant in Athens,Texas 25 years ago. It is MMMMMM....MMMMM....Good! Nancy C.
